A Charge to Fulfill

Play episode

“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry“. 2 Tim 4:1-5

Every believer have a charge before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, to “watch in all things, to endure afflictions, to do the work of an evangelist, to make full proof of thy ministry” (for which thou hast been gifted.)

Every believer have some gifts from Christ with which we are to serve with; we have not been sent to the war-front with no armunition; rather, we are being equipped with the very best weapons to engage the enemies with. We have been saved to follow Christ and serve Him to the very end. Whether it is children’s ministry, we are to do it as someone who shall give account, and do it with the singular mind to be faithful and successful in it. If it be in public preaching, general evangelism, etc, we must do it as someone who will give account, who shall be called to give an account of our stewardship and gifts.

Every born-again Christian have a call (to follow Jesus fully to the very end) and a calling (the ministry in which we are called to serve with a singular and passionate mind). May God please have mercy and help us obey fully the call and make full proof of our ministry.
